Where Grace Is

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:17 ESV)

That is the power of grace. Salvation for all who would believe, in place of the condemnation that all deserve. Only grace enables the guilty to be pardoned, the captives to be set free, the blind to have sight, and the lost to be found. Grace does it. Only Grace, because of Christ Jesus our Lord.

Grace that is received, unmerited, unexpected, and given. All because of Christ Jesus. Only through Christ Jesus.

When the woman was taken, caught in adultery, and brought before the crowd, with her sin showcased before her, Jesus loved her and gave her grace (John 8:10-11).

When the skimpy and deceitful tax collector wanted to see, Jesus approached him and gave him grace (Luke 19:5).

When the crooked criminal hung beside Jesus on the cross, deserving everything he got, Jesus welcomed him and gave him grace (Luke 23:43).

When the busy homekeeper had no time because her thoughts were crowded with worry and expectation (Luke 10:40), Jesus reminded her and gave her grace.

When the doubtful follower insisted on proof, Jesus showed him and gave him grace (John 20:27).

“And Jesus said, ‘Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.’” (John 8:11)

Go and sin no more.

It’s what grace does. Grace changes a heart to sin no more.

Grace alone, through Christ Jesus.

It’s where Christ reigns victorious because a soul is set free to be and simply receive. It’s where Christ is Lord and King because a heart has gently surrendered to soften and always receive. It’s where Christ is lifted high because a life has bended the knee and confessed with the tongue that Jesus is Lord.

It’s where grace is!

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life [grace!] has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” - Romans 8:1,2 ESV
