Hold Fast

To those of you holding fast to all that God has promised, continuing on in the faith though the world around you pulls you away. To those of you who have gone astray time again and all you can do is run back to the arms of grace, clinging tightly to the promises He gives. To those of you standing firm on what you have believed, knowing and trusting Him Who is faithful, though it is often so hard, though you so often fail.

Listen to what the LORD has to say to you.

“…I do not lay on you any other burden. Only hold fast what you have until I come.” - Revelation 2:24b-25

Directly from the mouth of your Lord, you have heard Him say it. No other burden than to hold fast. None. Only to hold fast. To continue on. Steady the course. Run the race. Only to keep your eyes looking up. Only.

That’s it.

Until He comes.

Christ does not lay any other burden on you, other than His burden, the burden that is light (Matthew 11:30), the burden that promises peace, the burden that gives rest. The only burden required of your Lord - to come to Him.

And to hold fast there. To hold fast to Christ Jesus. Yes, all of you who have said yes to Jesus as Lord, your very reward is Jesus Christ Himself, the very One Who is eternal life (John 17:3). To you, Jesus lays no other burden on you than to simply come.

For you have Christ! You have eternal life! Hold fast to Him until He comes again.
