Even Then

No! Do not go there.

Do not go on thinking you’re defeated before you even begin. Defeated to the power of sin and temptation. Do not stand there believing it’s pointless to even try. Like you’re a hopeless cause, never to be made right. No! It’s not true! Stop! Do not go there.

Remember.

Even before you put one foot forward. Even before the temptation became possible. Even before it took hold of you, making you captive to its snare. Yes, even before you were first made and took your first breath here on this planet earth. Even before the foundation of the world was first made (Ephesians 1:4). Even then.

Christ made a way.

Christ Jesus made a way for you to be made right.

Yes! He made the way. To give you victory. To remove the power of every temptation. To become all you need. Christ Jesus made the way. The only way. For you to be set free (John 8:32).

So that life would abound in you, in every believer, in every child of His (John 10:10).

Christ Jesus made the way.

So you can stand victorious. So you can begin and step forward, each and every day, despite everything going on all around you that shouts it out back to you, them lies of defeat, leaving you feeling hopeless. Christ came to set you free, free to walk with Him and live in Him, the victorious One.

And your freedom is. Because every step forward is a step of faith, counted for all of eternity and shouted out loud in victory from heaven’s throne room. Your freedom is. Because Christ is lifted high and reigns as Lord of your life. All by faith. Faith that declares, “Christ did it! Christ did it for me!”

Because remembering what Christ did for you, even before, in making you right (Ephesians 1:4) is taking every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). And your freedom is! Even then.

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you… And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ… And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” - Philippians 1:3,6,9-11
