The Righteousness of God in You
It’s not getting it right that makes you right. It’s not trying to be good that makes you good. As though you are able to cover over the corruption and make up for the mistakes. As though burying the bad and drowning the drudgery is how to get to God so as to prove yourself righteous. No, it’s not that at all.
God fulfilled His promise to save His creation by sending His one and only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to make a way. A way for you to be made right and good.
So you see, now, it’s really getting it wrong that allows you to be made right. That’s right! And it’s giving up your striving to be good that allows you to be good with God. All in Christ Jesus! Because when you fail, and you acknowledge you can’t do it but God can, then your white flag of surrender declares victory over the evil one. All in Christ Jesus! For the Victorious One takes over when you allow Him in.
That’s how grace works. Every time.
That’s how the Spirit works. Every time.
For you to step forward and not go back. For you to be set free of the chains that bind, free of the battle that tires, free from the death that looms, and the flesh that entices. Grace, undeserved merit, is how. Grace is how to step forward into freedom. All through Christ Jesus your Lord!
This is where you quit trying to be good and get it right, and instead let the righteousness of God be manifested in you. This is where Christ makes you right and good!
Amen!

“But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” - Romans 3:21-24 ESV
