The Cross Is How- Part 2

He walks as the Saviour of your soul when He does it, surrounding you with His presence as your protection and proclaiming grace over every uncontrollable situation. And instead of giving death, He gives you life. That’s what He does. Instead of condemning you and giving you what you deserve, instead of leaving and forsaking you. Instead, He comes and He calls for you. Protecting you and intentionally seeking you, knowing you need Him, He walks as the Saviour of your soul.

Oh, let Him do it! Let Him show you He’s got this, He’s done it, He’s made the way. “Believe in the Lord Jesus…” (Acts 16:31) “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

It’s everything He’s done. So run to Him in everything. Praise His name!

You’ll start trusting in God’s kindness when you do, coming to Him as you are. You’ll start trusting in God’s grace and mercy towards you as you do, acknowledging your deep need and His abundant acceptance of you. You’ll start trusting in the very love of God when you do, learning to receive from Him grace upon grace.

Oh, let Him do it! He longs to walk as the Saviour of your soul.

Remember, everything that Christ is is everything that life is, to you. Do you see it? Do you know it? Christ Jesus really is everything that is life, making the way for you, showing you the way, and becoming for you the way to life, all through the Cross.

The Cross is how His love is shown for you. “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). In this is love (1 John 4:10)!

The Cross is how forgiveness is given to you. The perfect Lamb of God took away the sin of the world (John 1:29)! He gave His life to take away your sin. Christ’s death on the Cross paid the price for your every sin. For all who believe on the Lord Jesus are saved (Acts 16:31).

The Cross is how redemption becomes your story, where Christ leads you in His steadfast love and by His strength (Exodus 15:13), saves you from going down into the pit (Job 33:28), and removes any and all reason to fear by calling you His own (Isaiah 43:1). His redemption story for your life gives you every reason to come back to Him (Isaiah 45:22).

That’s all He asks of you to do, “Come and follow Me.”

And the Cross is how!

“…Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.” - Isaiah 12:4-5 (ESV)
