If At That Time
What is your automatic response when frustration comes? What is your immediate reaction when failure happens?
When frustration announces your every weakness loud and clear to your one self and leaves you with no option but to agree with the evidence stacked against you. When failure declares your every deed as not enough and leaves you alone with your regrets, one upon another, as an insurmountable obstacle against you. And you do not know what to do. What is your response then?
Because it is hard, so hard, when you feel you must be strong and never fail. And it is true, so true, when you are weak and you fail, there is no way to change it.
For we are all weak and we all fail, and we do not like it. So we have an automatic reaction to what we do not like.
But your reaction is not how you see it, for it’s not so much about if you react or not, but all about how you react.
It’s true.
How do you react to life’s frustrations and failures? Are you in Christ or not? In that moment of reaction, are you dependent on Christ or dependent on self?
Because only Christ can bring life from frustration and freedom from failure. You cannot.
Right there, exactly there, where your frustrations and failures stand tall and your responses grab hold of you in guilt and regret, is where Jesus is Mighty to Save. And He will save! He will save you! He will bring life and freedom to you!
“If at that time you… return to the Lord your God…” (Deuteronomy 30:2). If at that time you “Stop at the crossroads and look around. [If you] Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.” (Jeremiah 6:16). And if at that time you “…seek the LORD your God and… search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29). Then you will know the salvation of the LORD, for you will find the LORD. You will find the answer. You will find peace and rest and joy. Because you will find Jesus. And God promises to “…present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him” (Colossians 1:22), for He “…will hear from heaven and will forgive [your] sin and heal [your] land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). He will! He will! He will! He is that faithful!
Jesus is the Way Everlasting, the One Eternal, your Saviour and your God. Let Him be your immediate reaction and automatic response to every failure and frustration. Seek Him with all your heart and soul. He promises to save for He promises to be found by everyone who seeks. It’s a guarantee!!
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” - Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
