How Can He?

How can He? How can God? Knowing everything that goes on behind closed doors, how can He allow it? The evil, the injustice and abuse and vileness. To the weak and the oppressed. To the innocent and the vulnerable. To you. All the pain. How can He know of it and allow it? How can He?

You ask yourself. How?

Because God is love and faithful and righteous. And even in the midst of the evil and hatred and dishonesty, He is still holy. But how?

Because God is just. Yes. And even in the midst of the injustice, He is still just. But how?

And you ask yourself. How?

But do not forget. God. Do not forget Who God is. Because when you remember God. When you know the Holy One. When you stand in awe of Almighty God. When you fear Him, and Him alone. Then the how and the why and the despair and the fear, they fade. They do. It all fades.

And the question becomes, how can we? How can you? Knowing all that God is and forever will be. Knowing all that God has done, for you. Knowing God, how can you? Deny God?

He wants relationship, with you. He wants healing and freedom and peace, for you. And He knows it is all only ever found in Him. So He willingly died, for you, to give you Himself. Because He longs, for you. For you to accept His saving grace. For you to be made right with Him. For you to know Him as Saviour, Redeemer, Friend. Because He came down, He gave up His rights as God, for you. Yes, He came down in the flesh, to die your penalty of death. Because He loves you, He came down. Because the Creator of the universe, the Almighty, Sovereign God loves you, He came down. He reached out to you, first. Because He loves you. Because He wants you.

Amazing grace!

So how can you? Deny Him?

He made a way. Christ is the Way. All you have, all you can, all you must. Do. Is accept His gift. Acknowledge Him as LORD. Receive. Because He loves you. Because He wants you. Because His heart breaks for you. His heart breaks because of the evil.

And still, in the midst of the evil, He reigns victorious. It is in the midst of the evil that He is calling you. And how can you deny Him? Remember, it is in the midst of the evil, that Christ's love heals you. It is in the midst of the evil that Christ's power and might saves you. It is in the midst of the evil that Christ is LORD in your life, Christ is Saviour of your life, Christ is your life. The Bread of Life. The Living Water. Eternal Life. In you. Amen.

And the evil fades for what it's worth: powerless in the name of Jesus Christ.
