Willing to Choose Life.

Every morning. You see the sun rise. Every morning. You start the day with the same struggles. Every day. They won’t go away. Every single day. It begins again. A new day. A new start. But the same sun. And the same struggles. The same responsibilities. The same daily mundane work. Every day. Even though projects or travels or excitements come at times and make the day different, still it is the same. The same underlying life that must be maintained day after day, regardless of what’s going on all around it. The same life is still there. Every day.

And it is the same God over it all.

Just because the same mundane life must be lived, and just because the same ordinary things must happen. It doesn’t change God. Almighty. Sovereign. Majesty. Power. Authority. Ruler. Compassionate. Merciful. Gracious. Love.

The same mundane life doesn’t change Him.

In fact, He came down to live the same mundane life we all live. On purpose. To show us His majesty and power and love and mercy and grace, in the mundane. To show His authority and sovereignty. He came to earth to show us Him. To show us God in flesh, with the same struggles we struggle. With the same responsibilities we bear. With the same daily mundane grind we must live here on earth.

And He came to save us. Not from the daily grind. But for the daily grind. Not from the struggles. But for the struggles. Not from the responsibilities. But for the responsibilities. For them all to show us Him.

Because it’s in the struggles that we realize we are not strong enough.

It’s in the mundane tasks that we realize we are not motivated enough.

It’s in the wave upon wave of responsibilities that come that we realize we are not sure enough, of ourselves.

And it’s easy. Easy then to see just how overwhelmingly unable we are. To live this life.

But, then is when. When we are at the end of ourselves, is when we finally become willing. And it also becomes easy. Easy then to let Christ in, to let Christ take over.

For only when we are willing can we choose life!
