Yes, LORD!
Your learning to obey, it takes the hard things. Your learning to be still, to let go of your own efforts, it takes the end of the easy things. It does.
And learning to quiet your soul in the hard things, to be still long enough to obey in the not-so-easy things, it always comes by your conscious decision. It does, every time.
Because the hard things, the end of the easy things, they don't always produce softness. They don't always produce the desired outcome, like they should. Like God designed them to do. Hard things can also produce more hardness. Hard things can also produce only bitterness and resentment. Like Satan hopes for them to do. In you.
So, really, it is up to you. To decide. In the hard things. Will you say yes to God, or not? Will you choose Christ, or turn your back on Him? Because it's really your conscious choice, again and again, that sides you with God, or not. Every time. Again and again. Your yes is your joining forces with God. It's allowing God to fight for you. So that you can finally rest and just abide and always overflow. Christ!
And, you won’t believe it, that you are okay with the day unfolding the way it will. More and more. That you are okay with the outcome happening the way it will, with that word spoken the way it is, with each failure made the regrettable way it is made, every time. You are okay with it.
With letting people be the way they are. With letting circumstances be what they are. With letting the trials come the way they do. And, with letting Christ's love be enough. For you.
Because it is well with your soul. And your hope is in Christ and you know, you trust, that He will lead you forward. Through it all. He will guide. He will prompt. He will direct. Your steps. And He is enough. Christ is enough. For everything - for every person, for every circumstance, for every trial - He is enough. Christ's love is enough.
Your yes has done it. It has unlocked the power of God Almighty into your one, single, simple life, the very life Christ came for! All because He loves you! And you see that your learning to obey, to be still before God, it comes only when you cry out, "Yes, LORD!" In the hard things.
