His Perfect Love as He Intended

But when you try to take too much in. When you try to understand it all. The depths of the truths you are trying to soak in. The complexity of the trials you are trying to comprehend. The expanse of the emotions you are trying to grasp, to contain, to understand, to somehow control. When you try hard to take it all in, to take too much in.

So as to gain some sort of advantage over your life. So as to achieve success in your life.

Then it happens.

When you try to take it all in, and sort it all out, and organize and control and maintain and gain, it all. It happens. Fear happens. Panic happens. Anxiety happens. Every time.

Because, you have stepped out of God's love. You have. And you have stepped into fear.

Every time you seek understanding over the Sovereign One Who knows all. Every time you seek wisdom over the One Who is Wisdom. Every time you seek blessing over the Giver of all good things. You step out of His love. You do. Every time. Because you step out of Christ. And into your own efforts.

When you try so hard. And strive so high. And reach so far. You do. You step into your own efforts and lean onto your own understanding.

But don't you know that Jesus is all you need? Don't you know that Jesus will be for you all you desire? Don't you know? When it feels so hard and so heavy and so burdensome. Your every step does. Don't you know that that's not as He intended it? That's not as He intended your one life.

Because if Christ came to set the captives free, to bring good news to the poor, to comfort the brokenhearted, to set free those who are bound. To give rest. To give life. To you. Can't you see His great love? Can't you see His great grace? Can't you see His great goodness and forgiveness and mercy and patience and loving kindness and faithfulness? To you. Can't you see His perfect love? Can't you see Him?

Who died to set you free from death. Who rose from the dead to give you eternal life, His very Life.

And when you remain in Christ, in His love, then He controls and simplifies and maintains and gives to you abundant life, the kind of life He intended to give. To you. All along.
