All You Can Do.
When all you can do is pray. For that person, for that situation, for that change, in you. Yes, when all you can do is pray, you must not fret, you must not fear, for it is enough. It is enough. Your praying, it is enough.
Because the fretting and the fear, they come only always when we want to do more. More than pray. More than looking up. More than abiding. When we want to fix it and stop it, to show them and teach them, we want to figure it all out and know the outcome. We do.
But. When really.
Your praying, it really is the only thing that is enough. Because it goes further and it goes deeper than you could ever imagine. Your praying, your coming to God, when you have nothing to give, nothing to offer, nothing to even ask for, your coming to God, your seeking nothing but Him, it is enough.
Because your true need really is Him. Not the answers. Not the solutions. Not the change. And you may not realize it at first. You may not realize your need as Him. But when you come to Him, bringing your requests and your petitions, what you are doing is acknowledging your need, for Him. You are. Acknowledging your true need, for Him. In everything.
And He is enough.
He carries every burden. Because He wants to. He loosens every chain. Because He wants to. He captures every fear and heals every hurt and forgives every sin. Because He wants to. In you, He wants to. And in every child of God who surrenders. Who lives. Who acknowledges.
To Him. For Him. And only Him.
Christ wants to be, in you, freedom and healing and rest for your soul. Christ wants to be all that for you and in you. He does.
And it starts with and ends with your praying. Your coming to God as you are, your seeking, your looking up, your surrendering and acknowledging and abiding, in Him.
For that is the life of faith! That is life, His life, alive in you!!

"He [Jesus] must increase, but I must decrease." - John 3:30
"So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus... present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace." - Romans 6:11,13-14
