We Want to, But.

We want to protect and hide and cover.  The hurt.  The wrong.

But it's the hurt and the wrong, that are intended to bring us to Him.  And when we keep the hurt covered, when we hide the wrong, then God can't work.  Because we hide from Him, in our shame.  And we run from Him.

We want to stop and prepare for and prevent.  The chaos.  The unknown.

But it's the chaos of life and the uncontrollable unknown, that are intended to show us God's sovereignty.  Over everything.  And when we try to stop it and try to prevent it, then we can't see God.  Because we take control, on our own.  And we deny Him.

We want to create and keep and preserve.  The victories.  The good.

But it's the blessings of life and all the good from God's hand, that are intended to be given back.  Poured out as a sacrifice of praise back to the Giver of life.  And when we hold on to what God gives us, then we miss out on the greatest blessing - Himself.  Because we hold onto what was never meant to give life.  And we miss out on Him Who is Life.
