So You Don’t Know How
So you don't know what to do. You don't know what needs to be done. To see the life you long to have. To see victory over, and freedom from, what holds you captive. You just don't know how it can be done.
All you know is your despair. All you know is your frustration, and everything that comes with it. The anger. The fear. The doubt.
That you’ve got this wrong. That you’re doing it wrong. That there’s no end to the despair. In your life.
Because it’s all you know. It's all you feel.
But now, you stop. And you remember. Don't you forget. Where you have come from. It’s where He has brought you. It’s where He has carried you. So now, don’t you forget, Him. Because, it is true, your despair is not all you know. It is not.
Almighty God is Whom you have known. Through it all. Through the despair and the hurt and the pain and the anger. Through it all, He has remained. Faithful. Always. So do not forget, Him. No. Do not forget, but remember.
“...Remember this day in which you came out from Egypt [your place of captivity], out of the house of slavery, for by a strong hand the LORD brought you out from this place...” (Exodus 13:3)
Yes, it’s true, you have a loving Father with a strong hand. Who knows you and loves you. Who has carried you, all this time. Who has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. And it’s Him you know. It is Him Who will bring freedom, bring victory, bring abundance, to your life. By His strong hand. It is Him.
So it is okay. Because all that weighs you down, all that brings fear and anxiety and those uncontrollable emotions. It's what you're supposed to truly, deep-down, personally know, in this life. Your despair, your brokenness, you’re supposed to know it, for it always comes before your knowing God. Before freedom, before healing and change for the good. First despair.
Because He doesn't expect you to know anything but your desperate state before Him. He doesn't expect anything from you so as to weigh you down and burden you with any sort of self-sufficiency. No. All he wants is you. As you. Nothing more from you, but you.
So, when the Light reveals to you your need. When Christ cries out, ‘Remember Me!’ When you hear His call, ‘Come to Me.’ From within that despair of yours. And you see, you remember, you come. Know, there is freedom. There is abundance. There is victory. Right there, in Christ. He is all you long to have, and more.
So let it become habit. That your despair draws you to your Saviour, every time. That you find freedom, every time, because you find the One Who is Life for you. Always!! Every time!

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn” - Isaiah 61:1-2
