Nothing of You

When you see it was nothing you did or said or willed that made it right. But, instead, it was everything you stopped doing and stayed quiet about, everything you left to be. Yes, every person, every circumstance, every trouble that you let go of. It was when you stopped that you found peace, when you stayed quiet and let be what would be, that you experienced Him.

Because you left the Maker Himself to make right what He had right in the first place. What He set into order from the start. Because, and you can see it now, it was God’s idea from the start of time, to save you, and to make you right. To save them and to make them right. So that your circumstances can be seen in the light of Him. Only, always, in the Light. In Christ, where He is all. Always.

For you know, it was and it is nothing of you. That saved or made right. Nothing.

Because you can’t do it. You can’t save. You can’t make right. Only God can. And when you let Him take His place as Sovereign King and Rightful Master, over His creation, over your one life. When you stop doing to stay quiet and let go to let be.

Then, peace. And life and joy. Overwhelm and surround. Always.

For you let you be you.

And you let them be them.

So that God could be God. Over you. Over them.

And you see. That though the circumstances never changed. Though the trial and the difficulty remained. Though the person stayed the same. You saw Christ. For all He is, you saw Christ. In them. In that hard thing. In you. You saw and experienced Christ, Who is life and joy and peace.

For in your sight, you surrender to Him. You allow Him in, so He can take His rightful place, in your life. It’s where you live in the shelter of His wing, in the shadow of the Most High. In the sovereign protection of Christ’s Redemption, over your life. And find peace.

Because it was nothing you did or said or willed. That made it right. But, it was everything that Christ did and said and willed that made you right. For He is in the work of making right His creation, once again.

And His peace covers you.

“But—When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.” - Titus 3:4-7 (NLT)
