His Body the Church

What the church is to you, it tells.

Is it family, that sense of belonging?
Is it achieving, that sense of entitlement?
Is it fearful, that sense of condemnation?
Is it intimidating, that sense of insecurity?
Is it disturbing, that sense of awkwardness?
Is it fulfilling, that sense of expectation?

What is the church to you?

Because it's true, what the Body of Christ is to you, it tells. It tells of your heart. It tells of your desires. It tells of your needs. And your hurts and your fears and your past and your doubts. It tells. Of you.

And it tells of where Christ longs to meet you, where Christ longs to provide for you. To reveal to you every emotion that stands in the way. Of your coming to Him.

Because what the church is to you, it tells of what Christ is to you.

And when Christ is the One Who made you right with God. When Christ is the One in Whom you put your trust. When Christ is the One you follow. Then it's true. You are Co-Heir to the Kingdom (Romans 8:16-17), and Christ says you belong, His family is yours, He will be everything for you, He is all you need and so much more.

As Provider, Christ calls you to seek Him first, and every sense of entitlement flees in the sight of Him Who is faithful. As Saviour, Christ proclaims you as completely forgiven, no longer condemned, always secure in Him, and completely one with Him. As Redeemer, Christ calls you His own, so that you can grow expectantly into all He has for you, all in Him!

Because in His church, it is Christ Who makes you belong. Period. And when you belong to Christ, you belong among His people, with His church, a part of His body. One with Him. One with His body, the church.

Yes, what the church is to you, it tells of where Christ longs to meet you, so that He can be all to you. It’s where unity begins and ends. In Christ. In Christ alone.

“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” (Revelation 7:12)
