The Whole Point

It’s the whole point, your giving up is. Where you fall utterly, completely, hopelessly into His arms. Because you can’t do it anymore. That thing you’re going through, that person you’re dealing with, that emotion you’re fighting against. Your giving-it-up is the whole point.

Because that’s how God created life to be. In Him. Walking together with Him, by your side. Talking always with Him, all your days. Satisfied only with Him, for your life. Your giving up trying so hard to control that situation, to change that person, to fix that battle from within, is your letting Christ in. So that you can receive life, from Him, instead. Completely and entirely. It’s the whole point. True, abundant, eternal life is meant to be found only in Him, with Him. Only. Because only the One Who created life can truly give life.

It’s how it’s supposed to be.

Because you can’t do it. But He can. You can’t be made righteous and acceptable, on your own. You can’t make life work, by yourself. You can’t do it. You can’t live free, be completely satisfied, deeply fulfilled, or abundantly alive, by your own efforts. It just can’t be done.

That’s the whole point.

For it was on the Cross that Jesus died just for you, to make a way, for you. It was there that He declared, “It is finished!” Because He made a way, for you. Christ has done it! So you don’t have to try to make this life work anymore. You can receive life, instead, from the One Who is life. Your giving-it-up will do it, it will give you Christ! Every time!

"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved..." - Acts 16:31

“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” - Colossians 3:2-4 ESV
