Righteousness In Christ Alone
Don’t you go thinking you must do this alone.
After you’ve messed up, after you’ve stumbled and fallen. And that guilt covers you. After you’ve turned your back, after you’ve forgotten and strayed. And that judgment hangs heavy over you.
Do not think you must acheive righteousness on your own then. You cannot do this alone.
Because it happens. When you step forward, in that guilt and condemnation, with more determination, because you know the right thing to do in your own eyes, to make it better, to make it right again. It happens, you go alone.
Don’t do it. No, don’t. You go alone. You do it alone. You do. Anytime you step forward in guilt and condemnation, you go alone.
But, you cannot do it alone.
Was it not Christ Who died to make the many righteous? (Romans 5:15,19)
Was it not Christ Who presented you before God as holy and blameless? (Colossians 1:22)
Was is not Christ, not you?
And Christ promised to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He promised God would send the Holy Spirit to be your Helper, teaching you all the things of Christ (John 14:26). Christ promised. You do not have to do this alone.
So do not do it alone. Christ has done it. He has made you righteous. Already. Righteousness is in Him alone. So you don’t have to do it alone.
Oh, how He longs to show you just how. He longs to tell you and remind you of your great worth to Him, of your divine purpose and immeasureable value, to Him.
He longs to show you of His great mercy and love. How you can enter His rest, right now, within your failures, right next to your forgetfulness. And how the guilt flees in the presence of Him Who is Able to make you righteous in Him, always with Him.
Because you do not do this alone.
