Keeping Holy

The immediate task at hand is not that issue, nor that problem; it’s not that concern of yours. It‘s you keeping holy what is holy, your one life, that is. That’s it, you keeping your one self wholly set apart for Him. That‘s it. That‘s all. That, is the immediate task at hand, always.

For you were created for holiness.

And Christ has done it, He has made you holy and blameless and above reproach (Colossians 1:21-22). Already.

Yes, God has called you already, and He is calling you now, within that trouble and concern of yours. To be set apart for Him. It’s what you were created for - Him. For it’s not you who has chosen God, but God Who has chosen you. To set you apart for Him (Galatians 1:15). What honour! What hope! What significance! Your life has in His eyes.

So do not lose sight of the immediate task at hand. Do not be concerned with those things that try to pull you away from Christ, so as to distract, so as to overwhelm, so as to bring death.

But, “... choose life, that you ...may live, loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days..." - Deuteronomy 30:19-20

“since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’" - 1 Peter 1:16

That’s it. Holiness.

That’s how to choose life. That’s how to love the Lord. By keeping holy what He has already made holy.

Because that’s how He made relationship with you, His created one, possible. By making you holy. By reconciling you through Christ‘s death (Colossians 1:22). Through Christ, Who made a way, the Way, for you to be made right, to be made holy. The moment you believed on Him. The moment you surrendered your one life to Him. The moment you agreed Christ is enough to make you holy, as God is holy. That moment, all of what Christ is was made yours. And it was finished! Holiness in you was finished! One act of faith from you. One act of love from Him. Enough.

To keep holy what is holy.

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” - 2 Corinthians 3:18

From the Lord. His way. Amen!

That you would depend on Him, entirely captivated by Him, in complete relationship with Him, remaining in Him. Because it is all up to Him. And you know it, you know it then. Only He can make you holy. And He has done it!

So you run to Him again and again, over and over. It’s you keeping holy what is already holy. Already. That’s it!
