To Fully Receive
How can it be that you look all around, search all over, and try so hard, yet not see God? When He is always present.
How can it be that you hear of eternal life, know of eternal life, say you have eternal life, but still work so hard to receive it? When He is a free gift.
How can it be that you say Christ gives life and joy and freedom to those who believe, and yet you proclaim their faith is not enough apart from works? When He alone is life.
How can the Way be so fearful to so many who claim to follow Jesus as their Lord? How can His children shy away from Him, the Truth, so quickly and with such determination? How? How can the One Who promises life and abundance be so scary to so many who are supposed to be the very picture of freedom? To the world!
How? When Jesus is the way and the truth and the life! (John 14:6)
Is it that we are trying to understand the secret things of God, instead of accepting our inability to fully understand His ways so as to fully receive from Him?
Because it’s true, you cannot obey Christ when you search for the secret things of God. You cannot receive from Him the revelations that belong to you when you insist on your own knowledge and understanding of Him first. You cannot. You cannot receive the gift of Christ by working so hard to gain understanding for yourself. It only leads to fear when you believe you must earn Him and be worthy of Him by knowing and understanding the secret things of Him before you come to Him.
But what is revealed by Him already belongs to you, oh, Child of God (Deuteronomy 29:29). His revelation is very close at hand, on your lips and deep in your heart (Deuteronomy 30:14). The Truth, Christ Jesus Himself. The Way and the Truth and the Life. He is close at hand to you who would fully and simply receive from Him the revelation that belongs to you.
As you spend time with Him, allow His ways to be higher than your own (Isaiah 55:8-9), and you will allow Him to reveal Himself to you. Yes, as you let go of understanding, you will fully receive from Him, only then.

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” - Deuteronomy 29:29 (ESV)
“This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you, and it is not beyond your reach. It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’ No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it.” - Deuteronomy 30:11-14 (NLT)
