From Every Hard Thing

That thing that feels hard. That feels impossible, actually. That makes you want to stop in your tracks, right where you are, and give up. Because it’s impossible. Because you can’t do it. Because you’re so tired.

It’ll do it to you. That hard thing. It’ll bring despair. It’ll drag you down and put you out and leave you behind. At least that’s what it intends to do. That hard thing. That mountain. That too much of life.

But, now, just because that’s its intention. Just because it is bigger and stronger than you. And just because all your emotions clap their hands in agreement. It does not mean that’s how it should go. It does not mean despair should walk hand in hand with defeat. No!

Every cry out of despair. Every feeling of too much and not enough. Every acknowledgment of needing help. Every looking up to choose faith from within the storm of despair. It is your salvation from every hard thing. It’s a sure thing!

Because Salvation is. And that’s why He came. To be the calm within the storm. To be the Light within the darkness. To be the strong Tower and the Shield and the Sword within the battle. All for you. So you don’t have to. So you can rest. So you can abide with Him.

And let Him be. Let God be God.

So that He can reign in your life. Because that’s how life was intended to be, dependent on the Giver of life. Yes. When Christ came as the Way back to the Father, and you let Him be the Way for you, His life reigns in you. And it’s a guarantee, Salvation is. Every time!

So let your despair of every hard thing be the very thing needed to keep your eyes looking up to the only One Who is Salvation to you!
