Yeah, You
Hey, you. Yeah, you. You who wants to judge the earth. Yeah, you. The self-righteous doer. The depressed fault-finder. The confused criticizer. The unsure worrier. The got-it-all-together performer. Yeah, you. You know who you are. And you know where you are. Because it’s in you, it’s in all of us. That part of us that seeks to be the judge.
That seeks to find them problems and point out them faults. Every time that problem erks our conscious and those faults bother our soul. The improper and the not-right. They are what make us want to judge.
It’s in all of us.
So, hey you, who wants to judge. Yeah, you. Exactly, you. Right where you are, you, right now, you. Stop.
There is but one Judge.
“And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment” - John 16:8
He will convict.
So “Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for [He] judges the peoples with equity and guides the nations upon earth.” - Psalm 67:4
That’s right, it’s what happens when you stop being the judge yourself. When you let God be the Judge. It happens. Joy happens. And you will be glad and sing for joy!
Because it is not up to you to make right. It is not up to you to determine the wrong, to convict the guilty. It is not up to you.
So hey, you who wants to judge, stop! Right now, stop! And be glad instead. Sing for joy instead. God will judge. God is the Judge. So be glad and sing for joy all the earth!!
Christ, the One Who laid His life down, for you, and for them, He is the One Who will judge you and them. In righteousness and faithfulness. In equity.
And all of you who believe on the Lord Jesus. All of you who trust in Him to save. All of you who have surrendered your one life over to the God of the universe. Yeah, you! All of you. Sing for joy! For Christ reigns in you, in your life, and He has faithfully made you right in His eyes. Christ has saved you! His verdict against you is stamped ‘Not Guilty by the Blood of Christ’, ‘Not Condemned by the Cross of Christ’. The righteous Judge of the earth has declared you innocent.
So stop judging, and rejoice and be glad instead!
And the problems cease to bother. For the not-right of this world causes you to raise your hands in worship of the right Judge of this earth. Now. Instead. It’s you stopping, right where you are, to surrender all judgement over to Him, rightfully to Him. Amen.
For it is Jesus Who saves. And your heart sings for joy, your soul shouts in gladness! The righteous Judge of the earth saves through Jesus Christ our Lord! Again and again! His judgment saves! Faithfully. Righteously. Amen!
