Why Not?
Why would He? Why would He come down? Why would He choose to be tempted, choose to walk in the weakness of flesh? Why would He choose to die? Why would He? To walk upon this weed-infested land, to experience the pain and the anxiety of mortality, to know and be aquainted with the sin of this fallen world? Why would He? Why would He ever come down?
As a baby. As a servant. As a brother. To become dependent. To be mocked. To be crucified. As a lamb. As a sacrifice. As a Saviour.
Why would He ever choose to come down? The God of the universe, the Creator of all. Why would He come down to creation?
That first Christmas night.
He showed you there, how He would come for you, how He did come for you. He showed you why that first Christmas night.
That first Calvary night.
He showed you there, how He would save His created by conquering death, how He did save you from death. He showed you why on the Cross of Calvary, why He came.
It was for you.
One life of ultimate love, displayed for all. In coming down to live in the flesh, to die in the flesh. He did come. Amen. He came because He loves you. Jesus loves you! So He came for you. He came to you.
So why would He? Well, I ask you, “Why not? Why would He ever not come for you? When His love for you is that great, how could He not?”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” - John 3:16-17 (ESV)
