Choosing Grace- Yes Way, Yes How!

So you think it’s not enough. Your loving others. Your being kind. Your encouraging another. You think it’s not enough. These eternal acts of mercy and grace, not enough?! No way! No how.

As soon as you qualify your works of grace and love and compassion. As soon as you justify your time and effort and deeds. You are only trying to put eternity on a scale as though it were something to be quantified and validated. Like eternity could be, should be, must be measured. No way, no how!

Remember, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)

And how else is God’s love shown except through grace and compassion? Except by mercy and pardon? So do not fall into works thinking you must grade your deeds and weigh your load, count the cost, pay the price. Judging what is right to do. It is only a seeking to give value and credit to what you do. To somehow receive value for you.

For what you do, when measured, will never measure up. Those ‘qualified’ works, they are never enough. What you do will never be justified. To give you value. To give you worth.

Apart from faith in Christ, your works will never give value or worth, not ever!

“For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.” (Romans 3:28).

Your worth, your value was pre-determined solely at the Cross of Calvary. And you only receive eternity as a gift by grace, through faith.

Grace, received by faith. Then everything, everything you do is in light of eternity, in view of the eternal life given to you. And everything, everything you do becomes a means simply to experience the glorious freedom you have in Christ because you have now let go of the scales used to measure. For everything, everything you do is now by faith alone. And freedom always comes! It’s the salvation of the LORD!

When your very Source is Him. When your very eyes and heart, your very ears and mind all proclaim Him, all see and hear and tell of Him, all know and desire and seek after Him. Then eternity is, and eternal life is. Always.

For you are choosing grace. Every time.

And letting His grace reign! All the time.

And every act of grace towards another - a smile, an encouragement, a listening ear. Every act of grace towards yourself - a believing heart within the doubt, a choice to agree with Truth instead of condemnation, a decision to trust God and receive solely from Him. Those very acts of grace by faith, they count for all of eternity. Every time!

When His grace reigns there in your one life!

You can see it! His grace ruling your life! For when you think you know best, you let go of your opinion, to love them instead. When your guilt and your shame cover you, you let go of them lies, to believe what God says instead. When you’ve worked so hard to impress and to show, you let go of every effort, to simply be loved by God Almighty, the Giver of grace Himself, instead. It’s your choosing Christ by faith, and turning to grace, instead of all of them works and all of that not enough.

You choose grace because Christ is enough to cover you. Yes way! Yes how!

“For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” - John 1:16 ESV

“yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.” - Galatians 2:16 ESV
