Nothing But Christ

What if all that not-knowing was all of His knowing?  And what if it’s supposed to be that way?  Because everything you’ve built and worked so hard at, everything you’ve known and had control of, all because of the knowing.  It all counts for nothing.  Nothing.

How else do you think God get’s all the glory?  Not by all your trying.  Not by all your working and striving and building.  Not by all your knowing.  No, not at all!

Do you not see it?  How the weak, the used, the tattered and weary, the worn-out, how they are what display the glory of God.  Because of their not-knowing the end, not-knowing the how, not-knowing the when or why.  Yes, all without knowing, they display the glory of God!  Do you not see it?  How all of the character that all of life brings out is all of the glory and beauty of Christ alone.  Without life even trying to!  Do you not see it?  How the Light shining through all the cracks of mistakes and the not-quite-right’s of not-knowing is exactly how.

God will get all the glory.

And it’s not by your knowing!  Never!  But by His knowing.  Always.

Because all the breaking and wearing down, all of that not-knowing, is where pure weakness is found.  And weakness is where the strong power of God is found.

“[For] he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’

“Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ESV
