Hitting the Right Key

When you just can't hit the right key and it feels impossible, it is impossible. It really is. Be it the right word, the right thought, the right action to take. You just can't hit the right key, and it all feels impossible, because it really is.

But still, you try and you try again. To get it right. And all the time, the striving, it never ends. Because to live this life just right, to get it just right, everything has to be done just right. Every single thing. Just right.

But we are lost. In our own efforts, we are really just lost. In our own striving to get this life right, we are all lost. Like sheep without a shepherd, we are lost. And we cannot hit the right key.

That’s why we need a Saviour. Because the life we were created to live, we cannot live on our own. The life we were intended to have, intended to be blessed with, but never forced to have, this life, it can only be received, never attained, never forced on. Life is a gift.

So why is it so hard to grasp? Why is it the narrow gate? Why is it not easier so that more than just a few find it (Matthew 7:14)? Why?

Because we are all lost. All have fallen short (Romans 3:23). We all wander and we all stray. We resist and we fight against. Again and again. Over and over. And life is so hard. On our own, it is so hard and lonely and dark and painful. It is. On our own, on your own, it is so hard. For every one of us, it is so hard.

But there is One Who came for us. There is One Who knows our every hurt and pain and hard thing. There is. And He is the Way, the Right Key to unlock the narrow door to life everlasting. So you don’t have to hit the right keys in life. No, you only have to receive the One Who is hitting all the right keys already. Because He knows them all. For you and for me. Christ knows all the right keys to hit for your life to play beautifully, as intended, as purposed, simply beautiful. Yes, for everyone who finds life too much, He is the way to abundant life.

Receive life. Receive Christ today. He is calling you. So you don’t have to work so hard to hit all the right keys of life, so as to somehow find that narrow path. Instead, receive Him, be found by Him, the Sovereign One Who hits all the right keys already. He is calling you to come to Him, the Way and the Truth and the Life.

And you will find yourself enjoying the narrow path of life, as the notes of your life play out, key by key, right key by right key. All played beautifully by the One Who is Faithful, in you!
