Keep Calling
You who are calling on the name of the LORD, in that hard thing that won’t change, through the very thing that pulls you down, as you seek for some sort of relief, anything, to feel life again. Yes, you, who are calling on the name of the Lord. Again and again.
Listen here. You are not doing anything wrong.
Because what brings you to your knees and causes you to cry out, what softens you and softens you again and again, in the breaking and through the ashes, it is doing what it is intended to do in making you beautiful. As you call upon the LORD, He is making you beautiful.
When things aren’t going well and your emotions scream it loud. When it’s been so draining and you are so tired because life is so hard, and you have every reason to keep calling out to the LORD, then keep calling. You are not doing anything wrong. No.
“When you pass through the waters, [He] will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2). No.
God is with you and He loves you. He is enough to keep you safe and secure with Him.
Even in those hard things when all you can do is call out.
Because He came for you, to rescue you, to set you free, to make you His own. He loves you. Jesus loves you! And He is calling you. So keep calling out to Him. Yes!
For God called to you, first. He loved you first, and He forgave you first.
