To Fight or Not To fight?

Ah, but.

Remember.

“…Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm...” - 2 Chronicles 20:20 NLT

Remember.

“…The LORD is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you...” - 2 Chronicles 15:2 ESV

So when every lie you’ve ever believed continues to haunt you. When every wrong attitude, every strong addiction and every thorn in your flesh continue to steal from you the life you were given. When that thing you hate continues to entice you and make you do what you hate. And you want to fight it. Oh, you so want to fight it and resist it, to defend yourself from it.

Remember.

Remember Who is on your side and Who is for you.
Remember Who is sovereign and Who is over you.
Remember Who is present and Who is with you.

Remember the LORD your God.

How the battle belongs to Him (Proverbs 21:31). How what has happened is the LORD’s doing (2 Chronicles 11:4). How the LORD has promised to be with you (Deuteronomy 31:8).

So you need not fight.

When every lie and every addiction, every stronghold and every attitude, pull you down and bring you fear and claim victory over you. When the enemy comes calling and requesting a fight, are you to fight or not to fight? Where do you stand your ground? How do you stand your ground? Because you must remember, you are powerless against them (2 Chronicles 20:12).

It’s how you will remember the LORD. Yes, “…always act in the fear of the LORD, with integrity and with undivided hearts” (2 Chronicles 19:9 NLT), knowing you are powerless to fight.

And seek the LORD, call out to the LORD.  Remember Him.

“The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him...” - 2 Chronicles 16:9 NLT

“…Thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's. …You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, …Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the LORD will be with you.” - 2 Chronicles 20:15,17 ESV
