The LORD is Good!
It’s true. Life is hard. Each trial and difficulty, every concern and worry, all your fears for tomorrow and struggles in today. And you have a right to feel the way you do, that it is too much and too hard. Because it is. Life is so hard. Every struggle, every disappointment, every hurt and anxiety of the moment, it is all so hard. We all agree, life is hard, and, if we’re really willing to admit it, we’re also willing to acknowledge it, that life is, in fact, impossible.
But now, we must remember, when we feel that way, when we feel that life is hard and difficult and impossible to give satisfaction and peace, we must remember to run to Jesus, always to Jesus. We must remember to cast those anxieties and fears and rightful concerns onto Him (1 Peter 5:7), and run to Jesus. He cares for you, the one He loves. He loves you.
God loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die for you and take the punishment for your sins. He is enough for all happiness and satisfaction and peace. Cast all your anxieties on him.
Because when life is hard, there is one thing we can know and understand, and that is God's heart for us in it all. It is the Cross that shows you God’s heart, not your circumstances. It is Christ’s death and sacrifice for you that shows you God’s heart.
And It's God's heart that you become one with Him (John 17:21). He longs for you and you alone. It doesn't matter if you forgot to pray yesterday. It doesn't matter if you haven't opened your Bible. It doesn't matter if you failed as a parent, as a child, as a friend, as a person, today, yesterday, and every day. It doesn't even matter if you feel worthy or not. God loves you, He always has, and He always will, even when you fail again tomorrow. He just wants you, as you are, to come to Him. He simply wants you because He loves you, plain and simple. Surrender to, run to, come to Christ in the difficulty when life is hard, and His peace will surround you every time. And your longing will be for Him alone, every time.
That’s the very cry of the LORD to His people, “Come back to Me” (Jeremiah 3:22). Oh, the heart of the Lord! How His heart breaks. How His heart aches. Each time we turn away from His hand of provision and protection and love. Each time life is so hard and impossible. He longs to continually water your life (Isaiah 58:11), He longs to fill you with splendor (60:9), to make you beautiful forever (60:15), to work for you (64:4), to lead you and to show you the way (Jeremiah 2:17), to give you the finest inheritance in the world (3:19). If only you would come to Him.
It is God’s heart for His people. For the LORD is good, always, always, always! Even when life is so hard and impossible. The LORD is good!
