Consider All These Things
You spend all this time convincing. Convincing yourself and others of what is truth and what is not. Convincing, always convincing. And your soul is never at rest.
But when the impossible happens, how can you even try to convince yourself to know the truth? And when the beyond-your-control happens, how can you try to convince others of the truth? Because the truth cannot be explained or fully understood, ever. The truth simply is.
“But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 1:20)
Consider these things instead. And as you do, hear God calling to you, “Do not fear.”
For your soul to finally be at rest, the trying to understand must stop. The convincing must cease. And the considering must start. Yes, consider. Through it all, consider.
Does God love you?
Does God really care for you?
Does God work all things for good?
Is God’s strength perfected in your weakness?
Is God really present with you?
Is God able to do all things and carry all things?
Can you really know God is in control?
Can you really know you do not have to worry?
Can you really trust Him?
Yes and amen!!
Yes, He does!
Yes, He is!
Yes, you can!
Consider this before acting, before defending, before convincing. God does love you. God does care for you, and He really does work all things for your good. God’s strength is perfected in your weakness. He is with you and able to do and carry all things in and through you. Yes! You can know God is in control, and you do not need to worry. You can trust God!
And your soul will rest the moment you trust. Your mind will rest the moment you stop to consider, bringing every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), Who has already won the victory! For the battle is not against the flesh (Ephesians 6:12) as though convincing was how to win the war. No! The battle belongs to the Lord Who is mighty to save!! (2 Chronicles 20:15, Zephaniah 3:17)
Do not fear, dear Child of His. Consider all these things instead.
