Do You Remember?

When you hunger and you thirst, and you’re tempted to steal life from somewhere else, anywhere else, just to be satisfied. When you lack and you long for more, and you’re driven to meet your needs your own way, seeking for more, just to be content. When you struggle and you strive to get by and make it through, and you give in to anger and frustration, attempting to gain control of your life, just to be free of the shame.

When you are there, hungry and thirsty, lacking and longing, struggling and striving.

When you are there, searching for life, always seeking for more, succumbing to anger and frustration.

When you are there, seeking satisfaction and contentment and freedom from condemnation, where your soul thirsts for so much more because everything is found lacking, including your every effort, do you remember? Do you remember, there?

Do you remember how much you are loved? Even there?

Do you remember the kindness of Jesus, how He came for you to set you free? Do you remember the grace and mercy of the Father, how He made the way for you to come back to Him? Do you remember the comfort of the Spirit, how He filled you with the joy of His presence the moment you believed?

Do you remember just how much you are loved by God Almighty, the very One Who made you and called you by name?

He will become your fortress and you will never be shaken, when you remember. Simply because you are loved. Do you remember?

“I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.” - Psalm 62:1-2 NLT
