The Fullness of Christ

It’s true, it really is true!

You can tell by the way it gets lighter each step along the way. You can tell by the way the burden rises and the weight lifts again and again. You can tell it’s true! It really is true! The fullness of Christ Jesus is freedom indeed.

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1).

Christ has set us free! Christ has set you free!

That’s what grace does to you who have decided to follow Jesus; it sets you free.

In every hard moment of softening. Through every trying moment of humbling and breaking. Because of every real moment of weakness. The LORD is at work molding and shaping you into all He has made you to be, setting you free, moment by moment. For each moment is a reason to let grace in so that Christ can reign and you can receive the fullness of Christ.

And “… from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace” (John 1:16).

It’s being still before God (Psalm 46:10). It’s presenting your requests to Him with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6). It’s letting go of past hurts and the present bitterness that follows, and deciding to forgive (Ephesians 4:31-32). It’s acknowledging your need for salvation (Acts
16:31). It’s humbling yourself and repenting (Psalm 51:17). It’s hearing from God and going with Him (Isaiah 6:8). It’s stepping forward into Christ (Jeremiah 6:16) and following Him (John 21:19), despite the circumstances.

Because where Christ is, freedom always is. This is the fullness of Christ! Where every moment becomes an opportunity to follow Jesus and stand firm in the freedom He gives, and receive grace upon grace!
