Forgiven and Free!

Father, I need You. Not to make right what I did wrong, but to make me right.

And that is what You’ve done, LORD. Thank You, that is what You have done, for me! You have forgiven me and made me right. I can walk free of my wrongs, right now, because of what You’ve done for me.

So when every wrong deed screams defeat and claims that who I am is what I’ve done. When every mistake and failure shout out that I’m a hopeless cause and will never change. When every lie attacks my identity and causes me to believe I am doomed to remain stuck where I am, forever condemned and bound in these chains.

Help me to remember You, LORD, the Truth Who sets me free.

Because who I am is not what I do, it’s what You’ve done for me in making me Yours. And my cause is Your cause for I am Yours, and You see Christ when You look at me because I am forgiven. I have hope in You and what You’ve done for me, changing me from darkness to light, giving me Your very life. I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. The blood of Jesus has made me blameless in God’s sight, forever forgiven and free of any chains.

Yes, Father, I need you. And You know that. That’s why You sent Your Son to die in my place. That’s why You made a way! That’s why I am forgiven and given the very righteousness of Christ. Not having deserved any of it, that’s why I can walk blameless before You. Thank You, LORD! Thank You for making me right, apart from my doing. Thank You for forgiving me and setting me free of my wrongs. Thank You, Father, for being all I need.

Amen!
