On Your Side

It is the LORD Almighty you want on your side. And no one else. When the troubles overwhelm and the depression sinks in. When the fears consume and the anxiety takes over. When the burdens weigh down and the heaviness crushes. It is the LORD you want fighting for you. And no one else.

No quick escape from reality or diverting tactic of avoidance. No fast relief from the pain or promised cure of the disease. Not even any tantilizing comfort of this world to satisfy the lust of more possessions and experiences. No one else. Nothing else. They do not save. The LORD Almighty saves, and Him alone. It is Him you want on your side.

So acknowledge Him, seek Him, and come to Him. Choosing the LORD Almighty puts Him on your side. Every time. Crying out in your attempts to trust Him puts Him on your side. Every time. It is how He hears and fights for you. It’s true. So you can rest.

And as you rest in Him, without you even knowing it, He will act and move and fight the battle for you. Without you ever approving or understanding or realizing it, He will direct and give and reveal His good plan for your life. One step at a time, each moment of the day, within each circumstance of each day, the LORD Almighty is on your side. He is for you, not against you. He is with you, not absent from you. He is near to you, not far from you.

Come to Him. It is the LORD Almighty you want on your side. You need Him more than you know it, and He wants you more than you could ever imagine.
