Obedience Is.

Your obedience to Him - to the LORD God Almighty. It has to be. It has to be. For life to be, obedience has to be.

Because obedience is really just a tell-tale of devotion. And if Christ is your LORD, if He is your life, then your dependency is on Him. And your obedience is to Him, it is. It simply is. Because it simply is an overflow of your devotion and your dependency, to Him. Nothing more, as though you need to add to it. Nothing less, as though your heart and soul filled to overflowing is too much.

Yes, the moment you add ways and steps and methods to obedience to 'get it right'. The moment you start looking for results and outcomes, passings and failings. The moment you try to make obedience make sense. When you add to your obedience, you really take away, and you make less.

Obedience becomes null, and death is. For anything less than overflowing is only ever still, stagnant water - it is always lifeless. No growth, no joy, no life. And obedience becomes impossible.

But, as you abide in Him, as you depend on Him, as you rely and depend and rest and know. Him. Then it's His life that pours out in obedience. It's His life doing the will of the Father in you. It is. It simply is.

Obedience is. Because of what Christ is, to you.

Yes, when Christ is enough for you. Obedience is.

Amen and Amen.

"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to live in obedience to Him. Let your roots grow down deep into Him and draw up nourishment from Him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught..." - Colossians 2:6-7
