The Greatest Fear.
You fear but one thing. That you are not enough for what God asks of you. That you are not enough. For God.
One fear. The greatest fear. Your greatest fear.
When all God asks of you is but one thing. One command. The greatest command.
To love the Lord your God, with all your being.
And when the two collide, your greatest fear, and God's greatest commandment, to you. When they collide and mingle and stand face to face, it's like you have nothing to say. Nothing to prove. Nothing to show, or to boast, or to proudfully brag about. All you have is your fear.
Face to face with God's commandment to you.
To love Him, completely.
And you see, you know, that you can't. You can't love Him completely. Wrapped in, consumed by, overwhelmed with, your greatest fear, you cannot love Him completely. You cannot.
Because what is taking your worship, taking your love, is really your greatest fear. Your fear of not being enough, it is your worship of self.
And when God meets you, with your greatest fear, He comes with what only He can offer, with unconditional love, with compassion, with patience, with forgiveness. For you. So He can love you. Because God first loved, you. So that you can love Him back.
For God meets your fear with love. Perfect love that crushes fear.
And how can you not, love Him back? How can you not, worship Him? With all your being, with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. With all of you. How can you not?
Because what Christ did for you was enough to make you enough.
So that your greatest fear of being not enough, when in the face of His greatest commandment, to love Him alone, can turn into your greatest act of obedience, to let your fear be God alone.
And in the fear of the Lord, everything else fades, everything else loses its power, its hold, its control, over you. And you see what it means to love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. You see what it means.
When every part of you loves Him.
Your greatest fear becomes fear of Him, alone.
And your life is perfected in love.

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” - Matthew 22:36-40 (NIV)
"But the LORD of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread." - Isaiah 8:13
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love." - 1 John 4:18
