Knowing Your Need.

Do you know your need? That need that brings you to your knees, every time? That keeps you holding tightly to Christ, always? That same old need that puts you into your desperate state, again and again? Do you know it?

It's a need that causes you to look up, that makes you long for more, that keeps you desperate for Christ. And that need, it is good, because it is intended only for your good. For God's good purpose for you. For He gave it to you, so you would know Him.

Because when you know your need, your desperate need, then you learn to abide.

For knowing your need is really knowing your despair. In this life. In the things of this world, that never satisfy. And you feel lacking, you feel like something is missing, an emptiness. Because your need can only be satisfied and met in Christ Jesus. Really, it's true.

And when this world leaves you empty, when you despair and feel lacking, that is exactly where you need to be. To receive Christ, to come to Christ, to abide in Christ. With nothing to offer Him, but your hurt and broken soul.

Then Christ becomes to you your Healer.
Then Christ becomes to you your Restorer.
Then Christ becomes to you your Redeemer and Saviour and Comforter. Everything your soul needs. Everything your soul desires.

To be valued beyond measure.
To be accepted as is.
To be loved unconditionally.

Every deep need, met in Christ.

So when you know your need, rejoice! And let your need bring you to Him Who is calling you, "Come to me."

Because your worth and your acceptance was determined at the Cross where the very Son of God died for you, to make you right with Him, forever, and all because He loves you. Unconditionally.
