His Highest

That's the way it happens. The moment you have it all figured out, the moment you feel you can finally hold your head up high, because you've reached that goal, made the mark, earned that reward.

When you are at your highest and you can feel it from within. That sense of success, that feeling that you've achieved value. That pride in what you've accomplished. Then, you can expect it to happen.

Because God longs to bring you to His highest. So, He will never leave you at your highest, where pride reigns.

Because. For God to be King. For Jesus to be Saviour. For the Holy Spirit to be Helper. In a life. Pride cannot reign. It just cannot. No. So God will never leave you there.

There is only one King Who reigns. There is only one Saviour Who saves. There is only one Helper Who knows all and gives all wise counsel. Only One.

And, for a life to be daily santified, for a life to be given all wise counsel for every life decision, for a life to experience Christ in all His glory, that life cannot hold onto pride. It is impossible.

Don't you know that God already knows this? That your highest is where pride reigns. Don't you know God would do anything to stop the destruction of pride in your life? Don't you know? That God knows pride keeps you from salvation because it keeps you from Him. It keeps you there, captive to its snare, being tossed and turned by the wind and waves of life. And, oh, how it hurts Him. Don't you know?

So God chooses you there, to save you. God chooses you there, because He would do anything, to save you.

So it happens, God's way.

Every hurt and every failure. Every pain and every brokenness. In your life, it happens, to turn your eyes back to Him. Off of yourself. Back to Him. For the good in your life, for His highest in your life.

Because, when it makes you run back to the Father. When it makes you cling to your Saviour. When it makes you depend on the Holy Spirit. Instead of running to the strongholds you've built to feel safe in. Instead of clinging to your own ability to save yourself. Instead of depending on your circumstances and the people around you to make your one life successful and approvable. And enjoyable.

Instead of all that wind, and all those waves of life, that depend on the changing and evolving people and the moving and influential circumstances around you to achieve the desired result. Instead of all that.

You choose Christ.

Then, you have reached His highest. And, you have left your highest, your pride, behind.
