And They Come
The harvest is ready. People are hungry and thirsty. But it’s not a hunger that needs filling by the pointing of the finger, to display all that they have done wrong in going against God. It’s not a thirst for more condemnation and more convincing as to the right and the good way. Because it’s not a mechanical conversion to the Way that brings the harvest in.
No! The hungry, the thirsty. Those seeking for something more. Them fields that are ready for the harvest. They are the hearts and the souls of those who are longing for more. Of God. Whether they know it or not. They are the ones who hunger and thirst for Righteousness. Pure Righteousness. Yes. And they can’t seem to find where to fill their voids. Because the labourers are few.
But when the Saviour calls, “Come!” When the Redeemer proclaims, “I have called you by name!” When the God of the Universe declares, from the victorious stage of the Cross, albeit the appearance of defeat, “It is finished!” When Christ reigns! Then the labourers rise up! They do.
And they come running! Back to Him. Because the harvest is ready. And His people, the labourers, are now ready. To be sent out. To the harvest.
For you can tell where the labourers work, you can tell who they are. And you can tell it is harvest-time. It’s where the hungry are fed, and the thirsty are quenched. Everyone of us. Where the Spirit moves among His people, calling them back to His side, and they come, where life and abundance and eternity are.
It’s where the labourers are plenty.

“When he [Jesus] saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” - Matthew 9:36-38
