Still, You!

The call comes loud and clear. May you hear it clear and loud. To your soul. But one thing. The call is just one thing. Only one.

Because, in those draining times, when the battle is so strong, and you know you’re so weak, there is only one thing you can do. Really. Yes, the call is really the one thing you can do, if only you are willing.

But, still, we fight against it. Why? Oh, why do we fight and resist and insist against it? Again and again, why?

The call to give up control. It is a call right to your soul. To quit trying so hard. To start letting go of your rights. It is a call of surrender and submission. Are you willing to obey the call? Are you willing to give up control?

Because, it is evident. You are burning out, your body is weak and failing. You are tiring out, your mind is weighed down and so heavy. And you are losing out, your spirit is starving. For life. For more of life.

For you were not meant to fight this fight. You are loved and valued and redeemed, already. You have a Saviour who has fought the fight and declared 'It is finished!' Already. You have a God who is for you and not against you. You have a Father who loves you and values you and treasures you. Always. Already.

That’s why He sent His Son. That’s why His Son died. To take the wrathful punishment for your sins upon His own body. To break the curtain that stood between you and Him. To satisfy a perfectly Holy and Righteous God. So you could be one with Him. Once again. He did it for you, to have you. And He needed to, He wanted to, He had to, die so that the righteous requirement of the Law would be fulfilled in you. And now. It is finished. Christ has done it, He has saved your soul! He has made you holy and righteous. Redeemed. He has given you free access to God Almighty. Oh Child of God, He has made you one with the Righteous One. Already! Really! It is finished.

So you can give up control and not be afraid to come to Him, as you are, without having accomplished anything. Still, you, in your mess of life. So you can stop working so hard to survive and to be made right and acceptable. Still, you, in your apparent failings. So you can let go of your rights, and be okay with it, because you find yourself blessed beyond measure with the Prince of Peace. Still, you, undeserving you, blessed you, with the Prince of Peace!! The very desire of your heart!! The very longing and very need of your soul!! Met in Him!!

Still, you! In your giving up! Amazing grace!!

“O afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and lay your foundations with sapphires. I will make your pinnacles of agate, your gates of carbuncles, and all your wall of precious stones. All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.” - Isaiah 54:11-14
