To See Christ is To Come

Until you see Christ, you will debate and argue and disagree and question. You will. For you will believe truth needs persuading, and others need convincing, for God to be God. And the last thing you will do is come, and surrender, and rest. In Him.

Until you see Christ.

Because there is a battle raging on, so you feel you must participate, you must pull your own weight and fight. And you refuse to surrender, you refuse to come. Because it is all up to you to fight the fight.

Because there is a purpose to life, so you put your eyes on everything that surrounds you and needs doing and finishing, all by you. And you refuse to come. Because it is all up to you to finish the goal.

Because God is moving all around you, so you see your apparent accomplishments, and you hold your head high, for others to see Christ. And you refuse to come. Because it is all up to you to keep the good things going.

But child, do you not see your chains? That Christ wants to break every chain over you.

Oh child, do you not see your need? That Christ wants to reveal His great love for you, so you can know your great worth to Him.

Dear child, do you not know your knees? That Christ wants surrender over sacrifice, because He simply wants you.

It’s where you will see Christ! So you can come to Him.

For to see Christ is to come.

Because it’s all you can do, to simply come to Him. And your surrender to Him, your revelation of His love, they are what allow you to know your freedom. So you are able to rejoice in your knees, the only posture from which you will come. It’s where you can finally rest, and declare,

“Lord, I am coming.”
