The Choice is There

Because it’s not you, it’s Him. It’s Him Who saves. It’s Him Who gives life and knows the answer to that problem, that unknown, that struggle, in you and in them. Yes, it is Him Who saves and gives and knows. Not you.

You must simply choose: Him or you. It’s your choice. To choose Life or death. To hold tightly or to let go. To attempt to keep control or to let God be God.

Yes, the choice is there, though so often it becomes unclear. Because we all do it, again and again. We start carrying that load, believing those lies, shouldering them worries. Again and again. And we choose self. It’s like we can’t help it. But we just forget the choice is there, the choice to choose God instead.

For the choice is always there. It is!

How God longs for you to remember there is a choice. So He reminds you, again and again. In the kindness of the Father, through the grace and mercy of the Son given for you, and by the gentle convicting of the Holy Spirit, God reminds you. Again and again, when things become unclear, He calls you back. Every time, He calls you back to Himself. He does! Because He knows the choice becomes cloudy when we drift from Him. So He calls, and He calls. Again and again. When that load becomes unbearable and those lies debilitate, when them worries create such anxiety.

Hear Him calling you back to Himself, back to Life. And choose Christ that you may live!

For your coming to Him, your receiving of Him, your believing in Him, it is your letting go. It is your choice for Life, not death.

It is your choice to let God be. Because you chose God, not self.

Nothing else calms a soul. Nothing else, but your choosing Life. Your choosing Christ so you can let go and let be. Your choosing to stop and surrender. Because it is God Who saves and gives life and knows all things. Always.

So you don’t have to.

Praise be to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who “...according to his great mercy, has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..” (1 Peter 1:3)!!

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” - Colossians 2:6-7
