Just As Much As You

It’s true. I can get caught up in acting and doing and saying and thinking them same things, just as much as you. Them things that are not good and detrimental and death to me.

And it’s true. You can get stuck in them exact same pits and addictions and attitudes, just as much as me. Them things that snare and kill and destroy. And are not good to you.

It’s true. Death has come to all mankind. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). It’s true. We are all capable of evil, of deathly evil, in fact. It’s what self does. It’s what anything apart from Christ does. It leads to death.

It’s true.

And whether you’ve just experienced the realization of what is really in you, of the evil you are capable of. In that explosion of anger, in that evil thought, in that selfish lust. In that self-righteous behaviour that mascarades itself as good, but quickly reveals itself as empty and heavy, and not life at all.

Or, whether you’ve just experienced the revelation of Him, of Who He really is and that He is in you, of how He has made you holy. In that touch of grace, in that moment of mercy, in that feeling of His presence. And you’ve seen what His forgiveness and love really are - a glorious way for the very real freedom that is yours to be lived out in your life.

Still, it’s true.

There is no one better than another. All have fallen short. All are in need of a Saviour. You, just as much as me. Me, just as much as you.

It’s why He came. To rescue you. And. To rescue me.

Praise the LORD, He is all about rescuing!!

It’s where we must all stay. Marvelling in the truth that sets us all free! The truth that sets us free indeed, because of our very real need for Christ alone to do the rescuing!
