All Things For Good
Do you want to see just how God works all things for good, for your good? Because He does. He works all things for good. Do you want to see how? How your feeble steps of faith, the ones you are so unsure of, are worked out to move mountains. How your repeated acts of the flesh, the ones you are so ashamed of, are worked out to set you, the captive, free. How your giants of fear and doubt, your deep hurts and pains, the ones that paralyze you and leave you fallen in pieces, how they are worked out to strengthen your soul, worked out for your good.
All things. It’s called grace.
How all things are worked out for good. Every mistake, every sin, every fear, every hurt, every doubt. For good. In and through every weak and weary saint of His, God is working all things for good.
So do you want to see just how? How His faithfulness is in the fire, and His sovereignty is within the storm. How His grace goes before you and His peace pours over you, working all things for good, for you. Do you want to see just how?
The Cross is how! How Jesus’ act of faith in obedience to His Father’s will was worked out to move the mountain of death that stood between you and Him. How the repeated acts of the flesh of His Crucifixion, the false accusations, the lying tongues, the tormenting lashings, the disrespectful mockings, His death itself, how it was all worked out according to the Father’s will to set you, the captive, free. And how those giants of doubt and fear, the uncertainty and skepticism that rise within every follower, the ones that came that first Good Friday and still come now, how they are worked out to conquer death in you and to give you life, worked out for your good.
So that you can receive life from God. With nothing but a feeble step of faith, along with your shameful acts of the flesh and impossible giants of doubt and fear. It’s how the poor in spirit come to receive from Him, with nothing to give. Nothing but thanksgiving for the Cross.
And it’s how to see God work all things for good. Standing in awe at what He did for you at the Cross, receiving grace, and knowing nothing but praise, praise to the One Who has done it all, finished at the Cross. For you know God really does work all things for your good, and your thanksgiving proves it!
