Learning to Enter

So you’re learning how to enter. To enter His rest. In everything, learning to hear His voice. And it’s some slow-slogging at times. When every trial and circumstance weighs heavy. When every task and chore overwhelms mightily. It’s that reminder to look up, instead of looking all around. To call out to God, instead of forging forward. To listen for Him, instead of ignoring. Yes, it’s some hard-going at times.

But you’re learning, you’re learning to rest. You are. Everytime the hand of God presses upon you, you are learning to seek Him. Everytime the voice of God comes, you are learning to stop and listen. Everytime the heart of God becomes so evident to you, you are learning to rejoice, in only Him. You are.

You are learning to rest in Him! And walk by faith with Him!

So what if it’s slow-slogging and hard-going at times? That’s okay. Because it’s guaranteed growing and reason for rejoicing every time, it is. It really is. Every single time you choose to see Him instead of the chaos, to hear Him instead of the lies, to know Him instead of the world around. You are learning to rest.

And what a romance it is. Your resting in His arms as He takes you through life. Your walking by faith as He guides you and comforts you and protects you. You and God Almighty, your good Father, your wonderful Counselor, the Prince of Peace. For you are seeing just how much He longs for you to come to Him. All the time. In every trial and every circumstance, in every chaotic moment of every day, because those times are the way of love, where He is calling you back to His side.

He is calling, “...come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts...” - Jeremiah 3:22b NLT

Yes. He will do it. He will heal. He will provide. He will comfort and be enough. Every time. That’s what love does. Pure, unconditional, holy love. God Himself, who is love (1 John 4:8). That’s what He does. Every time.

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end” - Lamentations 3:22 ESV

Love that bore your every sin upon His shoulders and felt the ultimate weight of the hand of God upon His very soul. Love that endured all and beared all. Love that was shown for all, for you. Just for you.

Love is how you are learning to rest. His love is how. And “...we who have believed enter that rest..” (Hebrews 4:3a). Yes, you are learning how to enter, to enter His rest.  You learning how to rest, to rest in Him!  Amen!

****

“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” - 1 John 4:16 ESV

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” - 1 Corinthians 13:7-13 ESV
