The Gift of God

It’s in the stepping out, every time, that you are saved. For that is faith. When you cry out to Him, when you wait on Him and trust in Him to take that first step out. It leads you to Him, every time. That is faith. Your stepping out to do the thing that is before you to do. Your leaving all the extra things behind you to trust He’s got them. Your letting go of all of them added burdens that you’ve been weighed down with, to allow Him to hold them in His hands instead. It’s your stepping forward into Him, always Him. That is faith.

Because you know that He goes before you, that His hands are carrying you, that He is the One calling you.

So your stepping forward is your faith that He is enough.

For it is your faith alone that reflects the simplicity and purity of grace alone - Christ’s glorious risen life, in you! For by grace you have been saved. So keep on stepping out. Keep on stepping forward into all that He has put before you.

And the LORD will draw you out of the miry bog that you feel stuck in, right now. He will put a new song in your heart. He will save you. It is the gift of God, received by you because of your stepping out in faith.
