Eternity in Focus, Just So

When you order it and lay it out. Just so. As though you’ve now got it right, and made it right and called it right. Like that was all that was needed to finally be right.

Because you’ve finally done it just right. But then what?

How does what‘s been put into place by the hands of man ever satisfy for all of eternity? How? Never! A building up, a structuring, and an ordering out of mortal hands can only ever result in mortal outcomes. Only ever!

So when you order and you plan. When you lay out and build up. Without Him. When you design and you structure. When you try so hard to live your one life just so. And you reach for that goal, as though your life, your joy, your satisfaction, all depend on it.

And you finally make it. Then what?

Then what? Because when what is temporal becomes the focus. When what will not last, will not satisfy, will not truly give you life, is expected to do so. It happens, it’s true. Despair happens. Despair in this life happens.

For what is temporary was never meant to satisfy. What is mortal was never meant to give and sustain life forever.

So why do we take what is meant to be only a blessing from a loving Father, and expect eternity from it? Why do we take and aim for and grab hold of what is in the seen, and make it our reality? Why? When God gives and promises and provides for eternity with Him right now, right here. As you keep your focus in the unseen reality of Christ.

Christ, Who bled, Who died, Who rose again. For you. Taking your punishment for the sin in you. For all who would believe, for all who would receive, Christ. Eternity. Right now. Where every longing is satisfied, where all peace and joy are yours. Eternity, yours, right now, in Christ Jesus alone.

It’s where all the ordering and building up just happen, because the sovereign hand of God orchestrates it all. Where the ‘just so’ of life becomes just so perfect and just so amazingly more than you could ever imagine. Amidst the turmoil. Because of the trials. Within the un-order and tearing down and absolute chaos of actual life. Because your reality is Christ. Your reality is the unseen life of faith.

Where life is lived in Him for all of eternity, just so.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." - John 16:33

“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” - 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
