You Are Blessed
Oh you who are His. Can you not see His great love for you? In the despir and the pain, can you not see His love? For you?
Because you who are His, you are the one falling apart and despairing of this life. You are the one who is His. It’s why you are so discontent with life. It’s why you feel your life falling apart. It’s why you are at the end of your rope, just clinging for just one breath of fresh air and wishing it would all go away. It’s why you feel weak and poor. It’s why you hunger and thirst. All the time.
It’s because you are His. And He is calling you to His side over and over again. Every time you stray from Him, He wants you to know Him deeper and deeper so you can know the power of His resurrection in you (Philippians 3:10).
Oh you who are His, do not stray from Him. Do not grieve His Holy Spirit in you (Ephesians 4:30). Come back to Him and allow Him to heal your wayward heart (Jeremiah 3:22).
He is calling you. You who are His, He is calling you. And you are blessed because He is calling you. In your mourning, when you hunger and thirst, because you are weak and poor, you can know He is calling you. And you are blessed (Matthew 5:3-6).
For His calling will lead to your seeking.
And there, you will be comforted. You will be satisfied. You will inherit the earth, and even more than that, the Kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:3-6)! It’s His promise to you.
For “Jesus said to [those] who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, …you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” - John 8:31-32
Because in your seeking, you will find Him.
And finding Him is knowing the Truth, Christ Jesus Himself, the Truth that will set you free. Because you have to cling so tightly to Him, just to survive each day. Because you fall apart without Him. And you know your need - that hunger and thirst that won’t go away, that pain and those tears that lead to despair. All apart from Him! All without Him! You have experienced it, trying so hard without Him. Working so hard without Him. You’ve done it.
Yes, you know your need for Him. The Way and the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). You know your need.
So now you are blessed. Blessed indeed!
Oh you who are blessed. Can you not see His great love for you? In the despir and the pain, can you not see His love? For you? Now?
