Not Far From Any of Us

Did you find God in all of those hardships you endured? Through all of them trials you traveled? Because of all that struggling you experienced? Did you find God and all of His glory there, exactly where you hurt?

Because of the hurt.

Did you find God?

Did you find Him to be sovereign over all and ever-present in all? Did you know Him to be the solid Rock and strong Tower of your soul? Did you? Did He prove Himself faithful to you over and over? Again and again? Did He?

Because He purposes to. For He longs to be known by you and proven faithful to you.

That’s exactly what your life is intended to do, to show you God, and enable you to find God, so you can know Him.

In the softening, because of the breaking, through all of that hurt. Your life is meant to point you to a risen Saviour, to the One Who conquered death and the grave for you. And because of the tribulations and trials, through all of them struggles, your life will cause you to seek for Him. Yes, the very life with all of that hurt in it, will find the very Saviour Who has conquered sin and the grave for it. Only because of all that hard stuff. It’s what turns a soul wholeheartedly to seeking.

And He will be found. It’s a promise of His.

“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” - Jeremiah 29:13

Yes, if you seek, you will find (Matthew 7:7).

So tell me, did you find God there? Do you know God in all of that hurt your life brings? He longs to be found. And He is not hard to find.

In fact, “…he is not far from any one of us.” - Acts 17:27

So seek. And keep on seeking. In all of those hardships, through all of those struggles and trials. Seek God first and His righteousness. He will be found by you.

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.” - Acts 17:24-27 NIV
