Come to Him

When you put everything aside. Every weight of obligation. Every guilt of duty. Every storm of panic. And every anxious thought of fear. When you put all of that aside to come. To simply come to Christ.

Then life is. True, abundant life is. It’s true.

But you ask, “What does it mean to come? If that’s all it takes to receive life, then what does it mean to simply come?”

There’s nothing more simple yet so far beyond your understanding. Because it has to do with surrender and sacrifice, with letting go and letting be. It cannot be understood or rationlized when trust and faith and grace are involved. There is no explaining it.

Christ Jesus is the only Way.

Is He the Way for you? Is He your Saviour and Redeemer? Is He your God?

Then come to Him.

It’s a decision of your mind to trust Christ. It’s a matter of your heart to believe Christ. It’s a surrender of your soul to receive Christ. It is. In all of that weight and guilt and anxiety of the storms of life, coming to Christ is a decision to trust, believe and receive. And it’s always, always a renewing of strength to come. Every time. So put all of that duty and obligation and responsibility and fear and panic aside and come to Christ. Receive life, Christ Jesus Himself. Remain in Him and rest. Abide with Him and live! Know the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom He sent, and you will receive eternal life (John 17:3). Every time!

Because life is impossible otherwise. It is. You know it. Life without Christ is impossible. Life apart from the Vine is impossible. “…apart from [Jesus] you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

So you must come. In order to rest. In order to abide and to remain. You must come. It is the only way. Christ Jesus is the only Way.
