But God Can

Ah, but. When you can’t, just can’t. Can’t be what is needed. Can’t do what is asked. Can’t see what is required. When you can’t. Can’t stop that action, mend that hurt, or fix that problem. When you just can’t.

It’s okay.

You can’t, but God can. He can be what is needed, do what is asked, and reveal what is required. God can. All through Christ Jesus, God has, and God will. God has made the way, healed the broken, and set the captives free. God will rescue, God will redeem, and God will restore.

So it’s okay.

When you can’t be what is needed, Jesus is all that is needed and you are His (Isaiah 43:1).

When you can’t do what is asked, Jesus has done all that is asked and you can hide in Him to let His life be (Colossians 3:3, Galatians 2:20).

When you can’t see what is required, Jesus will reveal to you all that is required because He knows all (Revelation 22:3), sees all (Genesis 16:13), and gives all (James 1:17). All that is required for life (Deuteronomy 2:7, Romans 4:25).

So it’s okay. It’s okay to be not able, and to let God do what you can’t do. It’s okay. Your job is to trust the One Who is able, to trust the One Who can do all things.

And a beautiful thing happens. Every time.
When you are okay with not being able, surrender is the result. And a beautiful thing happens. Christ reigns, in you!

“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” - Jude 1:24-25 ESV
